I know I SHOULD exercise BUT…. What to do when you just don’t FEEL like it!

by Jimmy on February 28, 2011

We all know that exercise is good for you.  By following a healthy lifestyle, we gain more energy and confidence while reducing unwanted ailments like heart issues, extra weight, and depression.  However, many people down deep want to live a healthier life- they are just waiting for some ideal magical outside source to come give them the motivation they lack.  Like some enchanted light switch.

So what bridges the gap between wanting to workout and actually doing something about it?  Well guess what, there are days where I don't feel like working out either.

Watch the video to see how I dealt with my unmotivated morning:

Ok…. so maybe you are one of those that need even more boost to get your booty moving.  What if you could have me Coach you for FREE ….AND win MONEY just for doing your workout? (even if you do a 'bad' job)  Too good to be true?  Not at all.  You can actually win up to $1000 a day just for logging in your workout & have me as your personal Coach.

I have done this…specially when it is cold outside – and yucky. The sun shines makes it easy to exercise – winter months are the ones I drag the most in. I am a person that HAS to exercise. I always feel so much better once it is done. Thanks for the encouragement

Some days are rougher than others to workout. Still, I figure a “lame” workout is still better than none at all. I tell myself tomorrow I can be lazy and skip my workout but I have to do it today ~ then my “tomorrow” just keeps getting put off another day! :)

I really seem to lag behind in winter time, but traveling makes it ten times worse… I lose all sense of routine and discipline! Yet, I feel so good when I exercise and I know it’s important, especially the older I get… your offer sounds “too good to be true” … but thank you! :)

Great advice Jimmy! That sure eases the pressure of doing that morning workout.

I am the exact same way. Especially when I first started working out. The 10 Minute Trainer workout program was how I got myself committed to working out everyday. I would make myself workout for at least the 10 minutes, and then most of the time I would do one or more 10 Minute Trainer workouts. Nowadays I look forward to my workouts. I still have those blah days and I make myself get in front of the tv and press play.

I am afraid I fall into the “I’ll start on Monday” category! Great post!

Jimmy, thank you for creating this video. In Holland we have 6 months of cold, rainy, windy, and cloudy weather. I loved the 10 minutes idea. I set out with my cap and heavy winter/rain coat and set off walking the dog listening to B.E.P. I told myself “Only 10 minutes”. I felt so good after the 10 minutes, I continued the rest of my 30 minute dog walk. My dog, Kyra, was EXTREMELY happy. Now we’re both sopping wet and cold, but we feel warm and good on the inside. Thanks again!
